Our Infrastructure Advisory (IA) team is looking to hire a consultant with at least three years of professional experience in advising government and private sector clients on strategy, financial modelling and deal-specific advisory work (project financing, M&A). Having experience working on major infrastructure transactions will be considered as a plus.
Background to the IA team
The candidate will be joining the IA team in Hong Kong, supporting clients from initial analysis and project evaluation through to procurement, financial close, construction and operations under two workstreams of services:
i) Project, Programme and Portfolio Management (P3M)
ii) Transactions, Economics and Finance (TEF)
We are seeking a candidate to join our IA team primarily within the TEF workstream to assist our clients in devising Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) strategies, economic cost-benefit-analysis, and financial analysis including developing dynamic financial models and assessing funding and financing options.
Our diverse client portfolio will enhance your skills in financial analysis, relationship management, challenging assumptions, and formulating actionable strategies. We deliver solutions across several key industry sectors such as Transport, Logistics, Power and Utilities, Healthcare and Social Infrastructure. Our project and client coverage spans beyond Hong Kong to Mainland China and South-East Asia region.
This role is based in Hong Kong, and the successful candidate may be required to travel depending on client need.
About the role
You will deliver solutions across the lifecycle of public and private infrastructure projects and transactions, including:
- Building financial models to analyse financing and funding options
- Design business cases and feasibility studies
- Develop economic cost-benefit-analysis models and reports
- Establish PPP strategy and tender documentation for public and private sector side
- Creating detailed proposals and other business development materials
- Mentoring, coaching and support to junior team members
Role requirements
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of three years of professional experience in the following areas:
- Consulting and advisory experience (e.g. professional services firms, banking, specialist boutiques, and engineering or technical consulting firms)
- Experience drafting reports, financial modelling, and preparing presentations for delivery to clients
- Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following sectors: Transportation, Power & Utilities, Social Infrastructure, Healthcare or Real Estate
- Some experience in advising government and/ or private sector clients on major infrastructure PPPs and transactions, involving strategy, commercial and financial analysis will be considered as ideal
- Fluent in English. Chinese will be considered as a plus
We are seeking candidates with the following knowledge/ skills:
- Robust accounting and financial modelling skills
- Strong knowledge of valuation techniques (DCF, LBO)
- Strong commercial acumen and general commercial skills with government and/ or private sector experience
- Expertise in developing business cases, procurement methodology and strategy for major infrastructure projects
- Understanding of economic evaluation methods including cost benefit and economic impact analysis
- Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in teams
- Enthusiastic work ethic with a willingness to learn and engage in new areas
