The Team
The Associate, Data Specialist sits within the Data Foundation & Governance pillar of the Global People Data Analytics & Reporting (PDAR) function. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining trusted people-data foundations — standardized definitions, a business glossary, and data quality — across Workday and connected HR systems. The Associate will support master data governance, data alignment, and documentation that underpin consistent, reliable reporting and analytics for the global workforce
How you will contribute
- Develop and maintain standardized HR data definitions and a business / metric glossary across HR, Finance, and business units
- Establish and run data quality standards, checks, and periodic audits to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Support data alignment across Workday, Jobvite and other people systems
- Maintain master data governance for key entities such as positions, organizations, and cost centers
- Document data lineage, definitions, and change controls to preserve consistency over time
- Partner with HRIS on Workday data architecture and configuration decisions that impact reporting
- Support governance and stewardship processes, including definition change requests and dispute resolution
- Identify and remediate data quality issues in partnership with reporting and HRIS teams
- Contribute to audit and compliance reporting, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR)
- Help prepare the data foundation for future migration to a governed data lakehouse
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Management, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or HR data / reporting
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, and master data management principles
- Familiarity with Workday data structures; exposure to Jobvite or similar HR systems a plus
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis; exposure to Alteryx preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical, quality-focused approach to data
- Understanding of HR data domains (positions, org structures, cost centers, headcount)
- Good communication skills and the ability to document standards clearly
- Awareness of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) and secure data handling
- Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment
