The Team
Due to continued growth in our Wealth and Asset Management Tax practice in Singapore and across APAC, we are looking to hire a Manager to join our team in Singapore.
Our team advises asset managers, private capital sponsors, family offices, institutional investors, and investment platforms across the lifecycle of a fund or investment structure. This includes fund formation, Singapore and cross-border tax structuring, MAS tax incentive applications, fund documentation review, acquisition structuring, tax due diligence, SPA and transaction document review, ongoing fund operations, restructurings, and exits.
The role offers broad exposure to the private capital ecosystem, including work with both GPs and LPs across private equity, venture capital, real estate, credit, multi-strategy, family office, and other investment strategies. Our work is often cross-border and collaborative, involving A&M’s regional and global tax teams as well as legal, regulatory, fund administration, and other external advisors.
This is a good opportunity for someone who wants to build a more rounded advisory skillset in asset management tax, combining technical tax analysis, transaction execution, fund structuring, and practical client advisory work.
How you will contribute
As a Manager in the Wealth and Asset Management Tax team, you will lead and support a range of advisory assignments, including:
Advise on Singapore and cross-border tax matters for funds, investment holding structures, family office platforms, co-investments, carried interest arrangements, and other private capital structures.
Support the formation of funds, including designing the fund structure, planning for relevant tax incentives, advising on fund documentation from a tax perspective, and helping clients progress toward a successful fund close.
Assist with MAS tax incentive assessments and applications, including practical implementation, ongoing conditions, and coordination with clients and other advisors.
Advise on tax considerations across the investment lifecycle, including investment flows, capital structure, financing, distributions, restructurings, and exits.
Support Singapore tax compliance and reporting matters, including corporate tax filings, annual declarations, and responses to IRAS queries, reviews, or audits.
Support transaction-related work where relevant, including tax due diligence, acquisition structuring, SPA review, and identifying key tax risks or implementation issues.
Manage client deliverables and workstreams, including coordinating with A&M colleagues and external advisors, reviewing junior team members’ work, and supporting proposals, thought leadership, and market-facing initiatives.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with strong fundamentals, good judgment, and the ability to communicate clearly. Prior experience in private capital or asset management tax is helpful, but not essential. The ideal candidate will have:
Approximately 5 or more years of relevant tax advisory experience.
Strong analytical ability, with the capacity to understand complex structures, identify key issues, and apply tax principles in a practical and commercial way.
Excellent writing skills, including the ability to prepare clear, concise, and well-structured client deliverables.
A proactive and curious mindset, with an interest in learning about funds, asset management, private capital, and cross-border investment structures.
Experience in one or more of the following areas would be helpful: tax advisory, M&A tax, transaction structuring, tax due diligence, international tax, corporate tax, fund tax, or financial services tax.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple workstreams, coordinate with different stakeholders, and work to client timelines.
Ability to supervise and coach junior team members, while also being hands-on in execution.
A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and growing practice.
