Meet the Team
You’ll join a strategy and pricing organization focused on shaping how Cisco brings its Security and Data Platform portfolio to market. The team works at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Go-to-Market to develop pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies that support growth, adoption, and profitability.
This role will have a strong analytical and data orientation. You’ll work with complex datasets, customer usage and product data, and financial and competitive insights to help determine how security and data platform capabilities should be packaged, priced, and monetized.
Your Impact
You will help define and execute pricing and monetization strategies across Cisco’s Security and Data Platform portfolio. You’ll combine pricing expertise, financial modeling, analytics, and an understanding of technology platforms to turn complex product and market information into actionable commercial strategies.
You will:
- Develop pricing, packaging, and monetization strategies for Security, Data Platform, cloud, and SaaS offerings.
- Evaluate and design subscription, consumption-based, usage-based, and perpetual licensing models.
- Analyze large and complex datasets to understand customer behavior, product usage, adoption, unit economics, profitability, and revenue opportunities.
- Use tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar platforms to support pricing analysis and decision-making.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to understand technical and economic drivers such as data ingestion, storage, compute, queries, APIs, telemetry, and workload consumption.
- Develop financial models, pricing scenarios, business cases, and recommendations for new products, features, and packaging changes.
- Evaluate competitive pricing, market dynamics, customer segmentation, and willingness to pay across Security and Data Platform markets.
- Translate product telemetry and customer usage patterns into actionable pricing and packaging recommendations.
- Establish scalable pricing analytics, measurement, and governance frameworks.
- Present recommendations to senior executives and drive alignment across Product, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and GTM organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, or 7+ years of experience with an MBA or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in pricing strategy, product strategy, monetization, or business strategy within cybersecurity, data platforms, cloud infrastructure, SaaS, enterprise software, or a top-tier management consulting firm.
- Experience developing pricing and monetization strategies across multiple pricing models, including subscription, consumption-based or usage-based, and perpetual licensing.
- Experience using data analytics, financial modeling, and pricing analytics to evaluate customer behavior, product usage, unit economics, profitability, and revenue opportunities.
- Experience working with large or complex datasets and using analytical tools such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar tools to support pricing or business decisions.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering, Finance, Sales, and Go-to-Market teams to develop and implement pricing, packaging, or monetization strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing pricing or monetization strategies for cybersecurity, data platforms, databases, observability, or cloud infrastructure products.
- Understanding of data-platform economics, including data ingestion, storage, compute, queries, APIs, telemetry, or workload consumption.
- Experience using product telemetry, usage, consumption, or adoption data to inform pricing and packaging decisions.
- Experience developing consumption-based, metered, or usage-based pricing for cloud or platform products.
- Experience with competitive pricing, customer segmentation, willingness-to-pay analysis, and market research.
- Experience developing business cases and financial models for new products, features, packaging, or monetization strategies.
- Previous experience at a top-tier management consulting firm.
- Strong executive communication skills with experience presenting complex pricing, financial, or analytical recommendations to senior leadership.
