Team Profile:
Alvarez & Marsal’s Investment Banking team advises mid to large corporates and private equity investors on M&A and financing mandates, with a focus on high-impact, strategic transactions. The team brings deep domain expertise across key sectors including Consumer & Consumer-Tech, Healthcare, and Manufacturing & Industrials.
We are currently expanding and seeking with a strong foundation in transaction management, financial analysis, and deal execution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working on M&A and capital raise transactions, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
How will you contribute:
The Manager in the investment banking team will play a pivotal role in supporting senior bankers and will work with them in managing transactions from inception to completion. The candidate should have a strong background in financial analysis, pitches & collaterals preparation and diligence management with a strong desire to build expertise in Healthcare, Consumer & Consumer-tech and Manufacturing & Industrials sectors.
Origination Support:
- Conduct industry research and financial analysis to identify potential transaction opportunities.
- Preparation of pitches and proposals to secure new business.
Transaction Management:
- Play an important role in end-to-end execution, covering M&A, Private Equity and Structured Finance transactions.
- Proactively anticipate potential questions, engage with the client on data requirements, carry out analysis and facilitate due diligence process
- Independently manage collateral development with minimal guidance from senior team members
- Prepare marketing materials including teasers, information memorandums and other presentations.
- Prepare detailed financial models, perform transaction and valuation analyses.
- Conduct in-depth research on potential buyers or investors (and targets on buy-side transactions).
Client Management:
- Communicate directly with clients, potential buyers/investors and other advisors.
- Independently manage key leadership meetings; set meeting agendas, summarize next steps, and demonstrate strong listening skills
- Develop strong client relationships by consistently delivering high-quality outcomes and maintaining regular communication.
- Clearly and confidently articulate ideas in both written and verbal communications.
Team Collaboration:
- Work with other team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Actively contribute to team discussions and leverage collective expertise to deliver exceptional client results.
Industry Knowledge:
- Stay informed on trends, regulations, and market dynamics impacting the sector of expertise.
- Possess strong knowledge of the chosen sector and its sub-sectors
- Contribute to thought leadership by analyzing sector trends and developing insights to support client decision-makin
Basic Qualifications:
CA/ MBA preferred from tier 1 institutions, with a strong academic background.
Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years post MBA or 4+ years post CA qualification of relevant professional experience in working in IB, M&A or corporate finance team
- Experience in working on sell-side, buy-side and/or private equity deals
- Worked on at least 2–3 private equity or M&A deals, end to end
- Proven aptitude and enthusiasm for conducting detailed financial modeling, valuation, strategic analyses
- Preference would be given to individuals with experience of at least one deal closure
